Register your own unique prefix or suffix for use when registering your stock with most UK and some foreign breed societies.

Click on the 'Search' button above and then use the search or browse options to check on the availability of your chosen prefix. Ideally a new prefix should differ from an existing prefix by at least 2 characters and not have any ‘soundalikes’.

Please remember that new prefixes must be between 2 and 25 characters long with no spaces, hyphens or apostrophes. Final approval rests with the breed societies concerned and the Central Prefix Register.

Print off a prefix application form by clicking the 'Print Form' button above (by clicking the menu 'File' and then 'Print'). Complete the form and send it to your chosen breed society with the relevant fee (variable – please check).

Extensions to further breed societies costs £20 (UK to UK societies) – please write with your old certificate and cheque to CPR as above.
